1. v. 1 - all that Jesus began to do and teach...we realize that this statement relates to His ministry after His resurrection because...
v. 2 says - until the day he was taken up.
v. 3 - he showed himself alive by many infallible proofs; being seen of them forty days
v. 9 - he was taken up and a cloud received him out of their sight
2. They will receive power from the Holy Spirit. The possession of the Spirit proves a realtionship with Christ and a responsibility to live for Christ.
1. (1)I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach (2)until the day he was taken up to heaven (3)he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God, (9)After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
2. (8)But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
1. (1) Jesus began to do and teach, (2) Until the day in which he was taken up, (3) he shewed himself alive, by many infallible proofs, he was also seen of them forty days,
2. He said "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
1. v.2- Until the day in which he was taken up - shows that he didn't just die but resurrected and was then taken up.
v.3 - he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God
v.9 & 10 - when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up - again shows that he resurrected and then ascended to heaven.
2. the Spirit of God dwell in you. The Holy Ghost will renew us. It will strengthen us.
