Acts: The Spread of the Gospel
This study is taken from John MacArthur's "Acts: The Spread of the Gospel." My prayer and goal for this devo is that we will learn more about how the early church laid the foundation for what we possess today, and that we would allow God to use us to turn our world upside for Him!
This will be an exciting journey, so encourage others to join you! I'm looking forward to the interaction we will have on this blog as we study the book of Acts!
The devos will differ in format from day to day, but two things are constant: 1) a daily reading, and 2) additional Scripture passages that are in bold. Be sure to read any and all of the readings/bold verses that appear so that you can see the full picture of what is taught that day.
Remember, you can access any of the previous devos that have been posted from the "Blog Archive" section on the left side of this page.

1. The "time is at hand" means that the return of Christ could happen any moment, or imminently. This revelation that he received could begin at any time.
2. He's going to come with the clouds (a sign of His majesty) and every eye will see Him as He really is (v. 5 - the prince of the kings of the earth).
3. They are going to mourn and weep because of what Christ endured for them.
1.it means that God is comming soon and at anytime.
2.that when God comes back everyone is going to see Him, even the people who dont want anything to do with him oe totaly hate Him.
3.there going to finally see that truth.
1. What did John mean when he wrote "the time is at hand"?
I think when John said "the time is at hand" he meant that the return of Jesus was SOON at this moment in time. Ofcourse we've been living the end off days ever since Jesus's assention..im not sure if that came out right but i hope you all know what i mean ^_^"
2. How did John describe the future second coming of Christ?
John described the second coming of our Lord Jesus as one that TRUELY SHOWED THE GLORY OF JESUS THE SON OF GOD.
The first time he came as humbly as possible in human form
now the second time HE"S GANNA COME IN ALL HIS GLORY. ^_^ i bet thats ganna be a beautifull sight...well atleast for the beleivers in heaven after the rapture. We'll have Front row seats to the second coming in heaven^^
3. How will unbelievers (Jews and Gentiles) respond to the return of Christ?
Although i agree with Pastor Jason and Taylor, that truely many will see the truth and see their false ways and weep and repent but i believe there are also going to be those that will still scoff him.
OFCOURSE THEY'll HAVE TO DO IT ON THEIR KNEES^_^
i forgot to add to the first question, even though he describes in glory the other verses suggested in there told that it would, at the time of his coming, everyone would be doing their regular thing. everyone will be living their lives as if nothing was going to happen.
" eating drinking giving into marriage" i think thats wat it was described as in Matthew.
1. it means that God is coming soon it could be today or any other time
2. he cometh with clouds
3. they will be bitter
~well....that God could be comming back at any time!
~well when He comes back the second time everyone (even the non-believers) will see him as God and see his power!
~they will feel what God felt when His only son died! the pain will be like losing there firstborn!!
