Acts: The Spread of the Gospel
This study is taken from John MacArthur's "Acts: The Spread of the Gospel." My prayer and goal for this devo is that we will learn more about how the early church laid the foundation for what we possess today, and that we would allow God to use us to turn our world upside for Him!
This will be an exciting journey, so encourage others to join you! I'm looking forward to the interaction we will have on this blog as we study the book of Acts!
The devos will differ in format from day to day, but two things are constant: 1) a daily reading, and 2) additional Scripture passages that are in bold. Be sure to read any and all of the readings/bold verses that appear so that you can see the full picture of what is taught that day.
Remember, you can access any of the previous devos that have been posted from the "Blog Archive" section on the left side of this page.

Revelation 2:1-29
Questions
1. Summarize Christ's message for the church at Thyatira.
2. Note the varied descriptions Jesus gave of Himself (vv. 1, 8, 12, 18). What do these reveal about Him?
3. Review Jesus' commands to each church (vv. 5, 10, 16, 25). How do Jesus' commands fit the problem He exposed in each church?

1. God is basically congrtulating them for their faith, service, charity and patience, but he also rebukes them for lettting Jezebel lead in the church. She is an evil an dwicked woman. He tells them that he is going to punish her, and that if they dont repent he is going to punish them too. He also mentiions that he will give a reward to whoever lives for him 'till he comes.
2. That he is almighty and powerful. HE is in control and has the power in his hand, he is that first and the last, he has the power to judge and his glory is infinite. It is impossible to fully comprehend this.
3. He tells them what they need to do in order to fix the problems. He knows exactly what is happening and has a solution for it.
1. God is saying that they are doing good but there not trying to grow in their relationship with him, there like riding the fence. also, they dont want to stand up to people who are doing wrong and talk to them and tell them they are wrong and need to repent.
2.He's trying to say He is the almighty God and that He rules over them.
3.He's giving them instructions on how to fix their problems and telling then what they need to do and what they need to work on to get closer to Him.
