Acts: The Spread of the Gospel

This study is taken from John MacArthur's "Acts: The Spread of the Gospel." My prayer and goal for this devo is that we will learn more about how the early church laid the foundation for what we possess today, and that we would allow God to use us to turn our world upside for Him!

This will be an exciting journey, so encourage others to join you! I'm looking forward to the interaction we will have on this blog as we study the book of Acts!

The devos will differ in format from day to day, but two things are constant: 1) a daily reading, and 2) additional Scripture passages that are in bold. Be sure to read any and all of the readings/bold verses that appear so that you can see the full picture of what is taught that day.

Remember, you can access any of the previous devos that have been posted from the "Blog Archive" section on the left side of this page.

Reflective Questions
1. How are you at saying goodbye?
2. Is it easier for you to be the person leaving or the person left behind?

Reading
John 16:5-15 (1st of 3 devos from this passage)

Responsive Questions
1. Based on what Jesus says in these verses, how would you describe the mood among the disciples?
2. How would you have felt if you had been there?
3. Jesus says that it is for the disciples' good that he should leave and that the Comforter should come. Why is the Spirit's presence more profitable to the disciples than Jesus' presence?
4. In what ways is it more profitable today to have the Holy Spirit actively present than to have Jesus here on earth?

2.sad, and scared cuz i would have to tell the world without him now and we all know what happend to Jesus he was hung.

3.i think its because the spirit gives you more conviction and now they wouldnt have to follow with the spirit like they did when Jesus was around they went to tell the worls so it would put their faith to the test.
